DAV Chapter 6 & Volunteer Driver goes the Extra Mile

On August 6, Steve Teasck, a volunteer driver for the NE MN Transportation Program and DAV of Minnesota, Chapter 6 of St Louis County Gilbert W. Nordman member, transported 8 sled hockey players to Veterans on the Lake resort in Ely, where they hosted a total of 30 participants for the sled hockey camp hosted by Coaches, Olympic Gold Medalist and Veteran Ralph DeQuebec and Coach Chris Douglas.

Steve utilized the DAV Chapter 6 van to transport the players in need of transportation on August 6 and returned the players back to Duluth area on August 11 totaling over 1,000 miles for the trips. Steve not only volunteer drives for the NE DAV program, but he also plays hockey for the Minnesota Warriors Duluth team, so when asked to volunteer for the project, it was going to be a great fit. This is Steve’s 3rd year transporting players from Duluth to Vets on the Lake Sled Hockey Camp. In the photo’s Steve’s efforts were awarded with DAV camp banner (organization support) recognition and in the lower photo Steve is in the right corner with green shirt and white goatee, along with UMD Coach Scott Sandelin, Coach DeQuebec, Coach Douglas, and transported players.
