Itinerary

Day 1:

You will be flown down to Flagstaff Arizona where you will be picked up by DAV of MN staff. You will then be transported to the house where we will be staying for the entire trip. You will be given the chance to settle in and get to know your fellow trip mates before we start our hikes.

Day 2:

For day two we will check out the south rim of the Grand Canyon by hiking the rim trail on top of the canyon. Afterwards you will have the chance to check out Grand Canyon Village and the local shops located there and get any souvenirs you may want to bring home. If we have extra time we will hop on a bus and drive to other locations along the rim of the Grand Canyon to see many different viewpoints. 1-4 miles in length

Day 3:

For day three we will hike down into the canyon on the bright angel trail. We will hike to everyone’s abilities to make sure we get everyone home safely. But we will be able to see the canyon from a different view point and see what it looks like from down below. 1.5-3 miles in length

Day 4:

For day four the group will decide on whether we will hike a different trail down into the canyon or we can take a nice hike through more level ground at the base of some small mountains to see some different scenery. 2 Miles

Day 5:

For day five the group will again decide on which hike we will complete. We have the option of hiking a mountain of over 12,000 feet the tallest point in Arizona or if the group is tired, we can complete another flat hike to make sure everyone is rested before travel. 1-6 miles

Day 6:

For day 6 we will pack up and head back to the airport to fly out and head back home.
