Zion National Park Hike and Explore
Follow the paths where people have walked for thousands of years. Gaze up at massive sandstone cliffs of cream, pink, and red that soar into a brilliant blue sky. Experience the tall, stretching walls of a narrow slot canyon. Zion’s unique array of plants and animals will enchant you as you absorb the rich history of the past and enjoy the excitement of present-day adventures.
This is a Hiking trip consisting of physical activities on unlevel ground!

What to Expect
TERRAIN/ROUTE CHOICES: Zion National Park offers a wide range of hiking route options from very Moderate to difficult. Come prepared for all types of hikes but the group will select the trails to make sure we account for everyone’s abilities.
LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY: You will be hiking in varied terrain and weather conditions. No previous experience is needed to complete this trip.
WEATHER: Due to different elevations, temperatures in the summer months fluctuate from 35° F to over 100°. Temperatures change quickly throughout the day.
WHERE YOU WILL SLEEP: At night, we will sleep in a home just outside of the park where we can enjoy the views from a distance as well as enjoy the local area.
MEDICATIONS: Please list all of your medications on your registration form.
Itinerary
Day 1:
You will be flown down to St George Utah where you will be picked up by DAV of MN staff. You will then be transported to the house where we will be staying for the entire trip. You will be given the chance to settle in and get to know your fellow trip mates before we start our hikes.
Day 2:
For day two we will hike the Narrows Riverside Walk and the Zion Canyon overlook trail for a total distance of just under 3 miles total with a nice break in between to rest and have some lunch.
Day 3:
For day three we will hike the Emeralds pool trail which is will be a total of about 3 miles again for the day.
Day 4:
For day four we complete a longer hike on the Angels landing trail which will be a total of about 4.5 miles. We will use the previous trails to build up to this one based upon everyone’s abilities.
Day 5:
For day 5 we will pack up and head back to the airport to fly out and head back home.
