Women Veterans to D.C. for DAV Midwinter Conference

Below is the application for Disabled American Veterans, Department of Minnesota to support the attendance of women Veterans at the DAV’s Mid-Winter Conference in Washington D.C. on Feb 22-26th.

This is an opportunity to engage with federal lawmakers on important Veteran policy issues, attend the National Commander’s testimony in front of a joint session of the House and Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, and get some amazing training at seminars offered at the Conference.

The DAV MN is looking to ensure we have as many voices represented in these discussions as we possibly can. Every year the DAV has a set of legislative priorities set for what we want to see our politicians in D.C. do, and each year there is an area of emphasis on ensuring women Veterans are able to get the same quality of care as male Veterans. However, it is not just in the policy issues specific to women Veterans that your voice is important, it is in all policy areas.

The DAV MN is hoping this experience will offer you an opportunity to see better who we are as an organization, what we fight for, and encourage you to join that fight back here in Minnesota. Whether that is considering the role of BPTL in your chapter, or helping organize local efforts for Veterans Day on the Hill, or in other ways, that is our hope for this program.

The DAV MN will be offering $1,700 to cover the cost of flight and hotel for the Conference. If you are currently active in a DAV Chapter we will work with them to make sure you have the financial support to get there.
