DAV of Minnesota Programs
DAV of Minnesota programs are some of the best in the nation
We work tirelessly to ensure that Minnesota Veterans are supported in their day-to-day life. Through our core programs of Transportation, Outdoors, and Benefits Assistance, we are in touch with what the needs of Veterans truly are. We take that knowledge and amplify Veteran voices through advocacy and action to make lasting, positive change, ultimately keeping the promises made to them when they separated from military service.
Transportation Program
DAV of Minnesota’s Transportation Services Program provides free transportation to Veterans to attend their VA or VA referred medical appointments. Rides are coordinated by our five regional Hospital Service Coordinators (HSCs) and driven by our team of volunteer drivers across the state.
Outdoors Program
The Outdoor Program is committed to providing opportunities for Veterans to heal and grow. From fishing and hunting to hiking and rock climbing, Veterans with all ranges of disabilities can participate in activities that increase hand-eye coordination, strength, endurance and quality of life.
Women Veterans Committee
Our mission is to serve as an advocate and champion for women Veterans and their achievements. We work to ensure equal access to federal, state, and local benefits and equivalent programs as male Veteran counterparts. We are dedicated to keeping women Veterans informed and connected through various means of communication including events, seminars, and newsletters.
Veteran Legislation & Advocacy
We work tirelessly to be a voice for Veterans across the state of Minnesota, bringing important legislation before the state government to ensure the promises made to our Veterans are kept.
Veteran Benefits & Advocacy
DAV of Minnesota staff members who assist disabled veterans with their claims are called National Service Officers or NSOs. As Servicemembers who have been disabled in our nation’s defense themselves, our NSOs have had special training to allow them to function as representatives for you and your family. These resources are available at no cost to the Veterans and/or family members seeking support with their benefits.
