The struggle for full funding of MDVA continues. As we discussed in Mankato the MDVA is currently projecting a $10million+ shortfall to maintain their current staffing levels.
If you haven’t done so already, please take a moment to call your Legislators and let them know you expect MDVA to be fully funded. It is unreasonable for the Veterans of this state to face a budget cut while our elected representatives in St. Paul try to figure out how to spend a 1.9billion dollar surplus.
If you are unsure of how to get in touch with your representatives here is a link: http://www.gis.leg.mn/OpenLayers/districts/
Once you have entered your address click on your MN House and MN Senate representatives to get their contact information. I have contacted mine and I hope you will do the same. If you do take a moment to contact your elected officials (or have already) please send me an e-mail with who you talked to and how they responded. I would like to track our efforts moving forward.
Also, tonight there will be a meeting to discuss the budget from 6p.m.-8p.m. If there is anyone in the Metro Area who can make it, please consider going. The details are included in the e-mail below.
We are nearing the end of session and your assistance is needed to ensure the quality of services for our fellow Veterans are maintained.
I have tried to include everyone who signed up for this e-mail list but if you know of anyone else who may be interested please forward this to them and let them know to contact me to be added to the list.
