Egan Company, a single-source contractor in Minnesota offering over 15 building trades to general contractors, architects, engineers, building owners, property managers and facility engineers, held a chili cook-off fundraiser with all proceeds going to the DAV of MN. The first ever Chili Cook-Off for a Cause, with 12 competing recipes, raised $643 for the Disabled American Veterans of Minnesota Foundation. Egan Company’s match brought the donation to more than $1,200. The competition was won by Lindsay Schwarz, a Mechanical Project Assistant for Egan Company.
“On behalf of the DAV of MN Foundation, I offer our sincere thanks for the Egan Company’s employee’s efforts for organizing this fundraiser,” stated Stephen Whitehead, Executive Director of the DAV of MN Foundation. “Without the support of companies like Egan Company, we could not fulfill our mission of empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. “
The funds raised by Egan Company will assist the DAV of MN Foundation with its programs and services that benefit all veterans in the State of Minnesota. In the last year, the DAV of MN Transportation Program was responsible for providing rides to VA appointments for over 23,000 veterans, totaling 1.7 million miles traveled. The DAV of MN leads the entire nation in transporting veterans to VA appointments. The DAV of MN Outdoors program was responsible for bringing over 500 veterans on hunting and fishing events in 2015. The DAV of MN Donor Connect Program successfully connected over 300 veterans with lightly gently used donated medical mobility equipment across the state.
