Disabled American Veterans (DAV) of MN Elect New State Officers

The DAV organization of MN elected Rob Hartley of Minneapolis as State Commander of the 20,000 member organization at their annual convention in Duluth May 4, 2013. Hartley, a Minneapolis attorney, has previously served as the Minneapolis DAV Chapter Commander and the MN organizations Treasurer.

Other officers elected are:

David Valtinson of Grand Rapids – Sr. Vice Commander

Greg Remus of Park Rapids – 1st Jr. Vice Commander

Chuck Haberle of Maple Grove – 2nd Jr Vice Commander

Gerry Holkko of Virginia – 3rd Jr. Vice Commander

Mike Medhaug of Apple Valley – 4th Jr. Vice Commander

Scott Berndt of Anoka – Judge Advocate

Donald Nesheim of Minneapolis – Chaplain

The DAV plays a pivotal role in the free transportation of veterans to and from their medical appointments at the Statewide VA medical centers, as well as fishing and hunting programs for disabled veterans. In addition, it has been coordinating the transfer of medical equipment for the disabled from donors to veterans in need of the equipment.

There are 32 statewide chapters of the DAV in Minnesota.
